Do Online Piano Lessons really work?

To my surprise, as a piano teacher, online lessons are actually great! And let me tell you why...

  1. You save time and money! No climbing into your car, using petrol, factoring in travel time, waiting for your lesson... all you do is log onto Zoom 5 minutes before your scheduled lesson time and you're set!

  2. You still get all the benefits of piano lessons in the comfort and safety of your home.

  3. For home-schoolers, you are easily able to include piano lessons into your home schooling curriculum.

  4. For busy adults, you simply log online and can still learn piano in your demanding schedule.

  5. I am still able to show my students how to play piano and different techniques and everything else, as I use the camera to show how I move my fingers. Even if I am not physically right next to them, all that's required for both student and teacher is sight and sound.

  6. I have a lot of teaching experience, so I know exactly what I am looking and listening for even if it's through a webcam.

Piano Keyboard

What you need to get started...

  1. A good and reliable internet connection.

  2. Your piano or keyboard set up in a nice quiet environment.

  3. A device with a camera, such as a tablet or laptop, or even a phone with a decent-sized screen.

  4. A small table or bar stool - or something somewhere close to the keyboard to set the device on at a good angle. All I need to see are your hands at a fairly good angle.

  5. Your love for learning the piano, of course!
